----------- Log-EQF Version 8.00 ------------- Released May 9, 1996 --------
Versions compiled on May 14th or later include the Summer 96 release of
DOSLOGAC (version 3) for the new Radio Amateur Callbook CD-ROM. Also
is a corrected FT1000MP.RIG file and a fix for disappearing calls when
going to the TNC from logging screen.
May 23, 1996 - Fixed SET-EQF module problem that prevented first program
to run from SHELL menu from being changed. Also added "W" QSL STATUS to
the WAS and DXCC summary displays and prints.
--- Version 8.01 May 27, 1996 ---
Set TIME OFF same as TIME ON for edit or manual QSO entry, whenever time
off is changed.
Add "<" and ">" to operators permitted for a SEARCH. For example, you can
now find all POWER entries lower than 50 watts in your log by searching for
"<50" in the power field.
Added 1296 MHz to the frequency selection menu.
Added "W" to show stations worked but not QSL'd when using the Registered
User DXCC and WAS utilities to display QSL STATUS SUMMARY.
--- Version 8.02 June 4, 1996 ---
Strip trailing NULL character from parameters passed to another program,
when a single empty parameter is passed; in other words if you call the
GOLIST program with no callsign entered it works again.
Add QSL STATUS to conditions checked for deleting a duplicate entry when
doing a SORT by DATE & TIME. If QSL STATUS is the same when CALLSIGN and
DATE & TIME match for consecutive QSO's, or if QSL STATUS is "blank" in
this condition, the duplicate entry is deleted.
--- Version 8.03 June 8, 1996 ---
Change to <F10> for manual frequency and mode retrieval from rig interface,
to clear COM buffer each time.
Slight change to CW KEYER timing.
Refine the lookup for DXCC and WAS so the highest QSL STATUS possible is
always returned for each country or state, respectively.
Improvements made to File-EQF IMPORT/EXPORT utility for CT, NA, and TOTALHAM
file import.
--- Version 8.04 June 12, 1996 ---
Fixed problems with CW KEYER timing in Windows and with 8088 CPU's (but not
both at the same time [HI]!).
--- Version 8.05 June 15, 1996 ---
Fixed a bug with logbook MERGE feature that would mess up the notepads.
Changed logic for CW KEYER so if option for numeric keypad is enabled, it
works from keyer screen as well as from logging screen.
Fixed lookup of MASTER.LOG; it would not work unless another callsign
database was also present.
--- Version 8.06 June 20, 1996 ---
Fixed a bug in the logbook BACKUP routine that would fail if log name was
only 1 or 2 characters in length.
Added a command-line switch to inhibit the COM port FIFO buffers. The
switch is "/NOFIFO", which inhibits the automatic detection of COM port
UART types and does not attempt to turn on the FIFO buffer regardless of
UART chip type.
June 30, 1996: Modified WAS and DXCC routines so if a logbook is sorted by
other that date, the records for WAS and DXCC are not changed; the oldest
QSO for a given QSL STATUS is always used. Also, ARRL CHECKED on hardcopy
printouts is now printed as "Y", as some printers could not handle the
checkmark used previously.
--- Version 8.07 July 8, 1996 ---
Improved resolution of beam headings with grid squares.
Improved mouse cursor redraw for full-screen windows on TNC screen.
Improved CW KEYER buffering of multiple key hits when sending memories via
the auxiliary keyboard.
--- Version 8.08 July 12, 1996 ---
Added display of selected date format to DXCC and WAS edit screen. Better
logic for detecting like prefixes for different countries in DX-EQF too.
--- Version 8.09 July 15, 1996 ---
Corrected problem with updating PREFIX.LIB library after seeing a "NOT IN
LIBRARY" report on the logging screen.
Added new command-line option for TNC AUTOLF, which outputs additional <CR>
<LF> combination at end of each line of text. Start program for this by
typing LOG /AUTOLF.
Corrected problems with DXCC country lookup when paging through EDIT
callsigns.
--- Version 8.10 July 19, 1996 ---
Added logic to guard against bogus grid squares being used for beam heading
and distance calculations. Also similar logic for portable callsigns so
callsign database addresses aren't used for country display.
Changed the prompt for one-line vs. detailed PRINT, so you are asked first
which format you want.
--- Version 8.11 July 26, 1996 ---
Added better QSL label printing control, at the request of the CY0AA
DXpedition (who logged nearly 16,000 QSOs with Log-EQF). Can now fit up
to 3 QSOs per label with 1-across or 2-across label forms, and you can
pause in the middle of a label print operation and later resume printing.
Also display a relative progress indicator and how many labels have been
printed on the screen.
Fixed problem with MASTER.LOG and ERROR 52-4 when printing address labels
from the EDIT screen.
Included the new BUCKTSR (version 2.0) for the BuckMaster HAMCALL CD-ROM.
--- Version 8.12 July 28, 1996 ---
Improved DX-EQF (V3.73) so when doing an AUTOMATIC UPDATE, you won't be
prompted to make a decision about a country already in the log with a
country name entered.
Fixed a bug I created in V8.11, which prevented country name from being
updated when a DX SPOT is recalled from the PacketCluster.
Fix problems with <F5> selection while cursor is on the CALLSIGN field.
--- Version 8.13 August 1, 1996 ---
Clear grid square after a previous QSO entry is cleared, and recheck the
country to see if it might be eligible for a DELETED COUNTRY status when
DATE ON is changed during manual or edit operation.
Improvements in memory management when program has to SHELL to another
program.
--- Version 8.14 August 5, 1996 ---
Some code changes in an attempt to eliminate scattered ERROR 14 reports.
--- Version 8.15 August 11, 1996 ---
Added a calibration control for CW KEYER speed, using <Home> key on the
keyer screen. Also extended maximum CW speed from 60 to 95 WPM.
--- Version 8.16 August 21, 1996 ---
Removed "old" code for BuckMaster CD --PRIOR TO APRIL 95 HAMCALL-- . This
was necessary to reduce the memory footprint of the program. Of course,
the BuckMaster CD's that use the BUCKTSR all work FB with Log-EQF!
--- Version 8.17 August 22, 1996 ---
Improved tracking of frequency returned from rig during rapid tuning or
marginal COM port conditions.
--- Version 8.18 August 23, 1996 ---
More refinement of QSL label printing for CY0AA.
--- Version 8.19 September 8, 1996 ---
Fix multiple QSO's per QSL label - if user said "NO" to prompt about
updating the QSL STATUS in the log automatically, program would do it
anyway for the 2nd and/or 3rd QSO's.
DX-EQF fix for some unwanted additions to deleted countries, and prevention
of an ERROR 05 from some empty records in DXCC.REC (and same for WAS.REC).
--- Version 8.20 September 14, 1996 ---
Fixed problems with rig frequency display for Yaesu FT-1000MP with much
greater resolution. This no doubt fixed some other intermitent problems
with other rigs too.
Added coarse control over TNC upload speed. Turn keyboard buffer off with
the <Tab> key on the TNC screen to slow upload back to "pre-V8" speeds.
Enable <^> and <Esc> and other special characters in TNC macro files to
occur more than once in a single line of text.
--- Version 8.21 September 17, 1996 ---
Eliminate prompt for multiple QSO's per label when printing a label from the
EDIT screen, since it was not possible to print multiple QSO's per label
when you don't know which ones to print!
Added <F4> DELETE to WAS & DXCC EDIT menu, so you can delete an entry from
WAS or DXCC records, respectively without typing over each and saving.
--- Version 8.22 September 28, 1996 ---
Improved printer error checking.
Put <F4> back in as a quick clear when CALLSIGN is being entered on logging
screen, but <Enter> or <Tab> haven't been hit.
Lengthen beep on TNC TERMINAL screen and running in Windows.
--- Version 8.23 October 5, 1996 ---
Improved SORT ability to remove duplicate QSOs; if QSL STATUS of "dupes" are
different, attempt to save the highest status of the two QSOs.
More work on BEEPS, especially in Windows or OS/2 environments.
--- Version 8.24 October 7, 1996 ---
Corrected a problem with ERROR 76 when running in DOS, introduced in V8.23.
--- Version 8.25 October 17, 1996 ---
Worked on TNC flow control with XFLOW ON.
Restored the TNC timing on UPLOADING files to the pre-Version 8 logic.
More cleanup for prompt for multiple QSO's per a single QSL LABEL. Can't
select this except for MAIN MENU item; QSL LABELE SETUP AND PRINT.
During CONTEST mode of operation, changing CALLSIGN doesn't erase the SENT
or RECEIVED reports anymore. Info on screen already stays there.
--- Version 8.26 October 22, 1996 ---
Changed TNC keyboard with KEYBOARD BUFFER OFF, so no <Cr> is sent after 80
columns of text.
Some work on DX-EQF operation, to fix bug with ZS9 and MANUAL UPDATES.
--- Version 8.27 November 3, 1996 ---
Added a message on lower logging window when DXCC or WAS status is displayed.
Clear out the <F1> thru <F4> key display until back into logging op after
returning from DXCC or WAS display.
Fixed slight problem on LOGBOOK SELECTION menu.
Made quick view for TRACK or INFO search report those fields.
In CONTEST operation, clear NAME, CITY, STATE, & COUNTRY fields when a
callsign change is made, so that if callsign database is in use, the
wrong info doesn't get left in the log.
--- Version 8.28 November 10, 1996 ---
Work on memory management.
Fixed problem with rig updates from <F10> when date rolls over midnight.
--- Version 8.29 November 12, 1996 ---
Changed logic so when you recall a DX SPOT using <F9>, the NAME, CITY,
STATE, and COUNTRY from "old" QSO entry is cleared away.
--- Version 8.30 November 16, 1996 ---
Cleaned up some label and callsign info lookup when switching from logging
to edit.
Added a new PREFERENCES parameter to SETUP, to control the delay between
characters sent to the TNC for UPLOAD.
Allow <BackSpace> character to pass through to TNC if keyboard buffer is
turned OFF.
--- Version 8.31 November 19, 1996 ---
Slight change in code for SORT, so that numbers between 0 and 10 are put in
to correct order.
Change PREFIX.LIB for Aruba, P4 to CQ zone 09 instead of 08.
Use INFO field from a previous QSO, if station worked before while logging.
Also make sure to use the DISPLAYED prior QSO information, not the first
QSO displayed in the WORKED BEFORE window.
--- Version 8.32 November 26, 1996 ---
Moved the QSL LABEL size and options menu so it appears FIRST when the QSL
LABEL SETUP & PRINT menu is selected. Worked on control for label eject.
